Booking
How do I book?
- Send a request through the booking page.
- I review it and send your quote. Complex projects start with a short scope call.
- Your date is held once you sign your agreement and pay the 50% retainer.
I'm not sure which package I need. Where do I start?
Use the package finder. It asks a few questions and builds a plan around your goals and budget, then carries it over to the booking page. You can also choose "Not sure yet" on the booking page and I'll help you pick.
How far ahead should I book?
Most projects are booked 2 to 3 weeks out, depending on scope. Simple projects can often be booked sooner, while larger projects and busy seasons may need more lead time. If your date is sooner, send a request anyway and I'll let you know if I can fit it in.
Do I need a scope call?
Scope calls are for larger or more complex projects, like multi-camera events, monthly plans, or projects with several services. Anyone can request one, but complex projects are scheduled first.
Does sending a request reserve my date?
No. Your date is only held once your agreement is signed and your retainer is paid.
Where do you work?
I'm based in Houston, Texas. Travel within 30 miles is included. Farther trips have a flat travel fee based on distance, listed in the terms.
Pricing and payment
Why are prices listed as "starting at"?
Your final price depends on what you add, like extra camera angles, rush delivery, or travel. Your quote is confirmed before you book, and it's good for 30 days.
What is the retainer?
A 50% non-refundable payment that reserves your date and covers planning and prep. It goes toward your project total.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes. Projects over $2,000 can use pay in 4: the 50% retainer, then 3 equal payments on shoot day, at first draft, and at final delivery.
How do I pay?
Invoices are sent through Stripe. You can pay by card or bank transfer.
When is the balance due?
Before your final files are released. Invoices are due within 7 days of being sent.
Is there a discount for booking more than one service?
Rush delivery is discounted when you add it to 2 or more services: 25% each instead of 30%. The package finder can also suggest bundles and phased plans to fit your budget.
Cameras and coverage
What's the difference between 1 camera, multi-angle, and matched cameras?
- 1 camera: one main angle. Clean and simple, great for talking-head videos and podcasts.
- Multi-angle: extra camera angles so the edit can cut between views. +$200.
- Matched cameras: matched cinema cameras, so every angle has the same look and color. +$450 from multi-angle, or +$650 from 1 camera. The rental is included.
What's the difference between editing movement and camera movement?
- Editing movement: slow push-ins, punch-ins, and reframes added in the edit to keep a video engaging. It's only used if it fits your style, and we'll confirm it with you before editing. No extra cost.
- Live camera movement: moving shots filmed on a gimbal or handheld. Included in top-tier packages, and +$150 on others.
Do you bring lighting and audio?
Yes. Professional lighting and microphones are part of every shoot. For events, performances, and livestreams, you can add a wireless speech mic for $150 or crowd and room mics for $100.
Do you offer drone footage?
Not right now.
What is the vintage look?
A retro finish for your edit, inspired by film, VHS, and polaroid styles. It works well for recaps and storytelling videos, or any project where you want a stylized, more custom look. +$100.
Shoot day
How should I prepare?
- Confirm access to your location, and any permits you need.
- Share your location with me at least 72 hours before your shoot. See the next question.
- Get permission from the people you'd like filmed.
- Have someone on site who can make decisions and help with access.
After you book, I'll send prep notes for your shoot.
Do you need to see the location before the shoot?
Yes. Seeing the space ahead of time helps me plan my setup, lighting, and camera positions. At least 72 hours before your shoot, I'll need one of these:
- Access to visit the location in person.
- Clear photos or a video walkthrough of the space.
Do you need to attend a rehearsal or walkthrough?
For live performances, larger events, and livestreams, yes. This mostly applies to artists' performances and bigger, more complex productions.
- Rehearsal: I watch the run-through to learn the flow of the show, plan camera angles, and catch timing or lighting needs.
- Walkthrough: when there's nothing to rehearse, I visit the venue to check lighting and power and plan where cameras go. For livestreams, I also test the internet connection.
I may do one or both, depending on your project and the access available.
You'll need to arrange access for the agreed date. If the visit is canceled, moved past the agreed date, or I can't get into the venue, it counts as complete and isn't refunded.
What if we don't have a rehearsal? Do I need to set one up?
For performances, larger events, and livestreams, it's strongly recommended. A rehearsal or walkthrough helps me:
- Catch every key moment: knowing the order of the show and its cues means I'm in the right spot for entrances, big songs, speeches, and reactions.
- Plan camera positions: I can find the best angles and clear sightlines without blocking guests or the audience.
- Check lighting, power, and sound: I can plan for dim rooms, stage lights, outlets, and a soundboard audio feed ahead of time.
- Test the internet for livestreams: so your stream starts smoothly and stays stable.
- Set up faster on the day: fewer surprises means less time setting up and more time capturing your event.
If your event doesn't have a rehearsal, a walkthrough of the venue works too. If neither is possible, send me a run of show or setlist, plus photos or a video of the space, at least 72 hours before. Without these, I'll plan coverage from what I can see on the day, and some moments or angles may be missed.
How should we prepare for testimonials or customer stories?
Have the people being interviewed prepare ahead of time. Knowing what they want to share helps them feel relaxed on camera and keeps shoot day running smoothly. They don't need a script, just a few key points they'd like to cover.
What if we need more time?
Extra time is $150 an hour, when my schedule allows. Your booked time starts at the scheduled start, even if things begin late.
What happens if it rains?
Outdoor shoots can be moved for free because of unsafe weather. We'll decide together at least 24 hours before.
Can I use my own music?
Yes, as long as you own it or have a license to use it. Otherwise, licensed music is included in your edit.
Livestreams
What platforms can you stream to?
Major platforms like YouTube and Facebook. We'll confirm your platform and account access before your date.
What does the venue need?
A reliable internet connection, ideally wired. We'll check it before your date, and a test may be needed.
Do I get a recording?
Yes. You'll receive the full recording of your stream, even if the internet or platform has problems during the event.
Can I get clips from my stream?
Yes. Add live clips to get short highlights cut from your stream, ready for social media.
Editing and delivery
How long until I get my videos?
Each package lists its turnaround in business days. Need it sooner? Rush delivery cuts the time about in half for 30% of the package price.
How many revisions do I get?
1 round of revisions for each video. Send all your feedback together within 7 days. Extra changes are $95 an hour.
How will I receive my files?
By download link, once your balance is paid. Drafts are watermarked until then.
Can I get the raw footage?
Yes, with the raw footage add-on for $150. Raw files are included with filming-only packages.
How long do you keep my footage?
90 days after delivery, then it's deleted or archived, depending on the size of the project. If you need it kept longer, let me know before then. A storage fee may apply.
Can you edit footage I already have?
Yes. Editing packages are for footage you send me, as one-time projects or monthly.
Using your videos
Can I use my videos for ads?
Yes. Once you've paid in full, you can use your videos on your channels, website, ads, and marketing, for as long as you like.
Will you post my project?
I may feature select projects in my portfolio and on social media. If your project needs to stay private, just tell me in writing before your shoot.
Changes and cancellations
Can I reschedule?
Yes. You get 1 free reschedule with at least 14 days' notice, to a new date within 90 days. After that, changes are $150 each.
What if I need to cancel?
How do monthly plans work?
Monthly plans are billed in advance with a 3-month minimum. After that, they continue month to month, and you can cancel anytime with 30 days' written notice.
